Leslie Hammer, Ph.D.

Dr. Hammer is a Professor in the Oregon Institute of Occupational Health Sciences at Oregon Health & Science University and a Professor of Psychology at Portland State University. For two decades she has developed and studied workplace programs that reduce work-life stress, improve health and job satisfaction, and reduce turnover. In her latest project, she developed an online training program that teaches civilian supervisors specific behaviors to help them retain veteran employees. The program is part of The Study for Employment Retention of Veterans (SERVe) and is funded by the Department of Defense. Dr. Hammer is also conducting another randomized controlled trial to help improve sleep among veterans. The Military Sleep and Health Study (MESH), is also funded by the Department of Defense.
