Meredith Lozar

Manager, Connected Communities, Blue Star Families

Meredith Lozar joined Blue Star Families in February 2018 and is the Manager for Connected Communities. In this role, she is responsible for the direction of existing BSF programming to create a consistent and reliable community support environment for military families. She also identifies and promotes various military family initiatives and works with the team to design, test, and launch solutions which bridge the gap between military families and their civilian communities. A leader in the field of military family support services, Meredith has dedicated her career to improving the lives and overall readiness of today’s military families. She has directed both large and small scale military affiliated nonprofit programs and served in multiple volunteer capacities for the Marine Corps, Army, and Air Force. Meredith has served as a subject matter expert and speaker on topics ranging from military financial readiness to the challenges of military spouse employment and professional development. Meredith graduated with the highest distinction from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and went on to earn a Master’s degree in Human Relations from The University of Oklahoma. Her thesis work focused on crisis intervention and secondary traumatic stress. She then went on to be selected as a Military Spouse FINRA Fellow and achieve her Accredited Financial Counseling (AFC) certificate. Meredith is also a member of the Board of Directors for The Association for Financial Counseling and Planning Education (AFCPE)where she represents the Military/Government Constituency and serves as their Government Relations Liaison. Meredith is an active duty Marine Corps spouse and mom and is proud to support her husband and family as they continue their service to this great nation. Her favorite Blue Star Families’ program is the Communities Program because it bridges the gap between military families and the communities in which they reside. Meredith has learned the value of community throughout her years as a military spouse and mother and knows the impact a “good neighbor” can have on a military family.
