For Veterans you work with who are having a difficult time making ends meet and regularly worry about how they will pay for food or another essential need, there is help available. MAZON: A Jewish Response to Hunger has partnered with the Department of Veterans Affairs to promote a screening initiative to determine food security. They are also developing educational resources to help connect food-insecure Veterans with available federal, state, and local assistance. One of those resources is this course, “Food Insecurity: Bringing Solutions to the Table.” The course is intended to help you understand how food insecurity happens and offer solutions to this problem. By the end of the course, you should be able to: Understand what food security means; Recognize how Veterans and their families can become food insecure; and Determine ways you can help Veterans in your community be food secure. The course is introduced by Senator Tammy Duckworth.
